Senior Social Specialist- International Lenders Engineering Firm Consultancy Services to Support the Lebanon Emergency Assistance Project (LEAP)
Job description
Lead social assessments and oversee social management activities for infrastructure projects.
Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure social risks and impacts are properly identified and mitigated.
Ensure compliance with World Bank Environmental and Social Framework (ESF) requirements.
Facilitate community consultations, grievance redress mechanisms, and inclusion strategies.
Provide strategic input on resettlement, vulnerable groups, and culturally appropriate engagement plans.
Qualifications
University or Master’s degree in sociology, rural development, anthropology, or a related discipline.
Minimum 10 years of experience in social assessment and social management, preferably in Lebanon.
Strong knowledge of Lebanese institutional frameworks and relevant social policies.
Experience working on large infrastructure projects financed by international financial institutions (IFIs).
Proficiency in stakeholder engagement, social safeguards, and monitoring mechanisms.
