Team Leader / Senior Environmental Management Expert
Job description
Lead the assignment as Team Leader, overseeing all aspects of environmental management with a focus on hazardous and special waste management systems.
Coordinate and manage multi-disciplinary teams involved in the project implementation across developing country contexts.
Provide strategic direction and technical guidance on legal, institutional, and financial frameworks related to Hazardous Waste Management (HWM).
Support project planning with practical input on geospatial planning and development tools and methodologies.
Ensure alignment of the project with international HWM treaties, guidelines, and best practices in both public and private sector contexts.
Prepare high-quality reports and analysis in English and contribute to knowledge sharing and stakeholder engagement.
Qualifications
Postgraduate degree in environmental management, engineering, or a related equivalent field.
Minimum of 15 years of experience in a leadership role within the field of waste management, particularly in special waste.
Demonstrated experience leading multi-disciplinary teams on similar assignments in developing countries.
Proven expertise in legal, institutional, and financial frameworks governing HWM systems.
Hands-on experience with geospatial planning and development practices.
Familiarity with relevant international HWM treaties and guidelines, with documented contributions in public and/or private sectors.
Excellent communication skills and strong analytical and reporting abilities in English.
