Aninver Awarded IsDB Contract to Support the Sahel Connectivity Program
Aninver Development Partners has been awarded a new contract by the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) to support the identification, development and promotion of priority regional connectivity projects under the Sahel Connectivity Program (SCP).
The Sahel Connectivity Program is a major regional initiative aimed at strengthening transport connectivity, facilitating trade and promoting greater economic integration across more than ten countries in the Sahel. Through this new assignment, Aninver will work alongside IsDB and national stakeholders to help transform priority infrastructure needs into a pipeline of well-prepared and bankable investment projects.
Over the 15-month assignment, Aninver will identify and develop a portfolio of priority regional connectivity projects, including opportunities suitable for implementation through Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs). The team will assess and structure potential investments with the objective of increasing their readiness and attractiveness to multilateral development banks, development partners and private-sector investors.
A key component of the assignment will be investment mobilisation. Aninver will prepare project promotion and investment materials designed to communicate the strategic and economic potential of the selected projects and facilitate engagement with prospective financiers and investors.
The assignment will also include capacity-building activities for participating countries, strengthening national capabilities in areas such as project identification, preparation and development. This will help create longer-term institutional capacity to advance regional infrastructure projects beyond the duration of the consultancy.
By improving regional connectivity, the Sahel Connectivity Program seeks to reduce barriers to trade and mobility, strengthen links between countries and markets, and support more sustainable and inclusive economic development throughout the region.
This new award further strengthens Aninver Development Partners’ experience in transport infrastructure, PPPs, project preparation and regional integration, as well as its collaboration with the Islamic Development Bank in the delivery of high-impact development initiatives.
The assignment is expected to run from July 2026 to October 2027.
