Aninver Development Partners awarded IDB contract to support the reintegration of human trafficking survivors in Costa Rica

The project aims to strengthen livelihood opportunities, promote social inclusion, and improve access to support services for survivors of human trafficking, contributing to their long-term recovery, resilience, and economic independence.

Working closely with national stakeholders, the pilot programme will develop and implement interventions that facilitate the reintegration of survivors into society while strengthening institutional capacities to provide comprehensive support. The initiative seeks to generate evidence and practical lessons that can inform future policies and programmes addressing human trafficking and social inclusion in Costa Rica.

Human trafficking remains one of the most serious human rights and development challenges worldwide, affecting thousands of people every year. Beyond rescue and protection, sustainable reintegration requires coordinated efforts that combine economic empowerment, psychosocial support, access to employment, and strengthened public services. By addressing these dimensions together, the project aims to improve long-term outcomes for survivors while enhancing the country's response capacity.
