Job description


Develop and evaluate policies and strategies for mitigation and low-carbon development.

Provide expertise on low-emission development strategies, including REDD+, NAMAs, and LEDS.

Support carbon market initiatives and mitigation scenario development.

Conduct research on low-carbon mitigation approaches in Africa and the SADC region.

Collaborate with stakeholders to enhance sustainable development strategies.

Qualifications


PhD in relevant fields (exact sciences) with a minimum of five (05) years of experience, or Master’s degree with a minimum of ten (10) years of experience in similar work.

Proven experience in developing and evaluating mitigation and low-carbon development policies.

Broad knowledge of mitigation approaches, including REDD+, NAMAs, LEDS, and carbon markets.

Experience in mitigation scenario development tools.

Proven experience in conducting research on low-carbon mitigation and development.

Ability to work effectively in a team.

Excellent proficiency in Portuguese and English (spoken and written).
