Aninver and Argon announce a strategic alliance to strengthen their joint activity in PPPs, infrastructure and financial advisory
The alliance combines Aninver's international experience with Argon's economic and financial track record to create a leading independent European advisory platform for PPPs and infrastructure.
Aninver Development Partners and Argon Consultores Económico Financieros have entered into a collaboration agreement and strategic alliance to jointly develop their activity in infrastructure, public-private partnerships (PPPs), project finance and economic and financial advisory.
The alliance brings together two highly complementary track records. Aninver contributes a broad international presence, experience in more than 70 countries and a strong position working with governments, international financial institutions, investors and the private sector. Argon contributes extensive experience in the Spanish market and in more than 20 countries, with strong specialisation in financial modelling, feasibility studies, concessions, project finance, infrastructure economics and finance, and transport and mobility.
Together, the two firms will offer a more complete proposition across the entire project life cycle: from planning and feasibility studies to PPP structuring, financial modelling, financing, transaction support and advisory services for governments, developers, concessionaires and investors.
A European platform with international reach
Combined, Aninver and Argon:
- Bring together more than 400 references and projects, with a strong focus on PPPs.
- Offer international experience in around 80 countries.
- Strengthen their position as one of Europe's leading independent advisers specialising in PPPs and infrastructure.
- Expand their capacity to work in both emerging markets and developed economies, with particular attention to Spain and Europe.
- Reinforce their offer to infrastructure funds, institutional investors, developers, concessionaires and other private clients.
The alliance also represents a natural evolution for both firms towards a greater presence in the private and institutional market, complementing their long-standing work with public administrations, multilateral organisations and development finance institutions.
"The combination of Aninver and Argon brings together capabilities that are hard to find in an independent firm: international experience, knowledge of the public sector and PPPs, economic and financial structuring capacity, and transaction experience. We want to leverage this combination to compete increasingly in Spain, Europe and other developed markets, while continuing to grow together internationally in the multilateral market," said Jose de la Maza, CEO of Aninver Development Partners.
Financial expertise and joint development
Argon brings recognised expertise in the economic and financial analysis of infrastructure and public service projects, including concessions and PPPs, feasibility studies, financial modelling, project finance and advisory services to public and private entities.
"For Argon, this alliance is an opportunity to combine our decades of economic and financial experience in infrastructure with Aninver's international presence and business development capacity. We share a very similar vision of advisory work: independence, technical rigour, specialisation, commitment and closeness to the client," said Ignacio Aracil, CEO and Managing Partner of Argon Consultores.
During this phase, both firms will retain their respective identities and teams, while progressively increasing their commercial and technical coordination, sharing capabilities and methodologies, and submitting joint proposals for selected projects.
The collaboration will also accelerate joint entry into new opportunities in PPPs, infrastructure finance, corporate finance, transport and mobility, energy, water, social infrastructure, urban development and other essential assets, for both public and private clients. It is part of a shared growth strategy aimed at building an independent European advisory platform specialising in infrastructure, capable of delivering complex projects at international scale.
