Aninver Development Partners in Kigali: Advancing the Creative Economy in Rwanda
This past week, the Aninver Development Partners team visited Kigali, Rwanda, to lead a series of dynamic focus group discussions as part of the Feasibility Study and Programme Design for the Creative Industry in Rwanda, commissioned by the Government of Rwanda and supported by the African Development Bank.
Focus Group Highlights: Engaging Key Stakeholders
Over three intensive days, we engaged with a diverse range of stakeholders to explore the opportunities and challenges facing Rwanda’s creative sector. Our discussions included:
- Creatives: Artists, designers, filmmakers, and innovators shared their visions for a thriving creative ecosystem.
- Public Sector Representatives: Insights into existing policies and areas for institutional support.
- Banks and Development Partners: Perspectives on financial tools and investments for the creative economy.
- NGOs and Associations: Understanding their role in fostering inclusivity and capacity-building.
- SMEs and Entrepreneurs: Challenges and opportunities in scaling creative ventures.
- Education Institutions: Exploring the importance of skills development and industry-academia collaboration.
These sessions provided invaluable insights into the unique dynamics of Rwanda’s creative economy, helping us identify key areas for intervention.
