Our experience in Belize
At Aninver, we have contributed to advancing sustainable development in Belize through our work in the Blue Economy sector. Leveraging our expertise in strategic consulting, digital solutions, and institutional strengthening, we have supported the Government of Belize in shaping a comprehensive and inclusive approach to ocean-based economic growth.
One of our flagship projects in the country was commissioned by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) to assist the Ministry of Blue Economy and Civil Aviation (MBECA) in developing a national strategy for a sustainable and inclusive Blue Economy. Through this project, we helped the government build a robust policy and institutional framework designed to balance economic growth, social equity, and environmental protection across key blue sectors such as fisheries, aquaculture, coastal and marine tourism, maritime logistics, shipbuilding, and marine conservation.
Our work began with an in-depth strategic diagnostic of the Blue Economy landscape, including stakeholder consultations, site visits, and a national workshop. We conducted a situational assessment to map blue sectors, analyze existing policies, and benchmark Belize against international best practices. The assignment also included a comprehensive constraints analysis and the development of actionable recommendations to address institutional, financial, and environmental barriers.
As part of this effort, we designed and implemented a communications and knowledge management strategy to enhance awareness and engagement around Belize’s Blue Economy. This included the creation of a dedicated website for MBECA, development of public education materials, stakeholder engagement campaigns, and workshops to build community understanding of the benefits of a sustainable ocean economy. We also contributed to the design of a national Blue Economy brand and supported digital publications to disseminate key findings and results.
Through these initiatives, we have helped strengthen Belize’s capacity to manage its marine and coastal resources effectively while promoting inclusive economic growth and climate resilience.

In Belize, we developed digital communication platforms and online knowledge systems to support transparency, stakeholder coordination, and public awareness around the Blue Economy. Institutional Strengthening & Policy Advisory
We offer strategic advisory services to help governments design and implement effective policies and institutional frameworks. In Belize, our work with UNIDO and MBECA helped define roles, responsibilities, and coordination mechanisms among Blue Economy actors. By building institutional clarity and communication capacity, we contributed to the long-term sustainability of the country’s marine and coastal governance systems.
