Pilot Intervention for the Reintegration of Human Trafficking Survivors in Costa Rica
Description of project
The project implements an 18-month pilot intervention in Costa Rica to support the economic and social reintegration of human trafficking survivors and their dependent children and adolescents. It combines individualized case management, psychosocial and legal support, skills training, and tailored pathways to employment or entrepreneurship, while documenting results and lessons for future replication and scale-up.
Services provided
- Coordinated with the IADB, INAMU and the Immediate Response Team to validate and support survivors of human trafficking and their dependent children and adolescents.
- Prepared individual diagnostics and Personalized Intervention Plans for survivors, based on psychosocial, socioeconomic and reintegration needs.
- Provided case follow-up, psychosocial support, legal referrals and motivational activities for survivors and their children and adolescents.
- Delivered training for survivors in basic, soft, digital, employability and entrepreneurship skills.
- Supported survivors’ job placement and entrepreneurship pathways through mentoring, business planning and technical assistance.
- Maintained case records and prepared reports on results, lessons learned and scale-up recommendations.
